It’s no secret that the lovely weather, spectacular scenery make San Diego a great place to live. But did you know that San Diego is regularly ranked among the best places to live for DOGS? Sites like Rover.com say San Diego is an ideal place to live for both you and your dog because of the extensive list of dog friendly activities, amenities, and services offered in the area.
You know that we here at Awesome Doggies Mobile Pet Grooming are all about the good life for your pet, and we thought that it would be a shame for your pet to get all groomed and gussied up and not hit the town afterward. Maybe we got a few hints from some happy hounds, but we felt it important, yes, very important that we share some of the best dog friendly businesses and activities in San Diego so you can spend some quality time with your beloved friend.
Beach Bum It
The beach is of course, one of the favorite dog friendly places in San Diego. The city is even the dog surf capitol of the world, and hosts an annual dog surfing competition called Surf Dog Surf-a-Thon for pets that want to catch some gnarly waves. For another totally awesome adventure, kayak San Diego with your dog with Family Kayak Adventure Center. Some pets prefer to keep it mellow and that’s cool with us; The Original Dog Beach at the northern end of Ocean Beach is an off leash paradise sand and surf loving pups, perfect for chillin’.
Night on the Town
We all know that San Diego is a culinary hotspot, and more restaurants are incorporating the pet advocacy vibe into the dining experience. Terra American Bistro, for example is an extremely dog friendly farm-to-table restaurant. They even have a doggie menu and serve their canine guests a water bowl on arrival. Parkhouse Eatery and Fred’s Mexican Cafe are also welcoming to dog owners and their pets.
Get Your Shopping On
If you love to shop, at Seaport Village there is no reason to leave your dog behind at home. Seaport Village is 14 acres of waterfront shopping, dining, and entertainment where many of the establishments welcome canine visitors. There is even a large dog park with plenty of grass. Another great place to shop that will have your dog’s tail wagging is Otay Ranch Town Center where dogs are supremely welcomed. They even have a dog park and vet clinic!
Now, after that next grooming, your dogs will have some great places to wag the swag!
